How to transfer your existing number into your Straight Talk phone

In order to port-in your existing number to your new Straight Talk phone, your current number must still be active. Go to www.straighttalk.com/Activate and select the option: Activate my phone with a number transferred from another company. The transfer may take up to several hours, however if there are any delays by your current service provider, it can take up 7 days before the number is ported-in. In case of landline numbers, it may take even longer, up to 30 days. Once the transfer has been made, your number will be ready for activation once your old phone stops working.

How to keep your phone active

Once your 30 day plan ends or once you run out of credits, you will need to keep your phone active by refilling your phone credits. You can refill your phone credits by going to the Straight Talk website and buying additional credits or by going to any Wal-Mart store and buying a service card to refill your phone credits. You can also choose to have your phone automatically refill by enrolling in the auto-refill option.
